1970s Omega De Ville "Grima" - 925 Silver Blue Tapestry Dial

A Piece Of Wearable Sculpture
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Omega’s collaboration with the visionary London jeweler Andrew Grima produced some of the most avant-garde watches of the era. Grima was not a watch designer, he was an artist who treated timepieces as jewelry. This De Ville, from the "Time in Style" collection, is a prime example of that ethos. Crafted entirely from 925 sterling silver, it moves beyond simple timekeeping and functions as a piece of brutalist art for the wrist.
The Grima Design Language
The defining characteristic of this piece is its complete integration of case, crystal, and bracelet into a single, unified object. The heavy, sculpted silver bracelet is not an afterthought, but the foundation of the design. The blue tapestry dial adds a sharp, linear texture that contrasts with the organic form of the case and its faceted crystal, a Grima signature meant to mimic a cut gemstone. The use of sterling silver is also a deliberate choice, giving the watch a cool tone and substantial feel that separates it from more common steel or gold models.
Honest Wear On A Structural Form
This example is in very good condition. The unpolished 925 silver case and integrated bracelet have clearly seen usage but are structurally great, showing the honest wear of a piece that has been enjoyed. The faceted crystal and the blue tapestry dial are both well-preserved, and the dial itself is clean aside from a single spec of dust near the 6:30 position. As with every watch we offer, this piece has been verified as mechanically sound and is ready to wear.
For The Art And Design Collector
This watch is for someone who appreciates the intersection of horology and high design. The name Andrew Grima carries serious weight in the world of jewelry, with his work championed by royalty and celebrities. This De Ville is a wearable piece of that legacy. The daily ritual of winding the manual movement creates a direct, physical connection between the owner and this piece of 1970s art. It is a statement that values form and material as much as function.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
