1989 Rolex Day-Date 18346 - Platinum Diamond Bezel Silver Dial Diamond Indices

Details
The Apex Predator Of Precious Metal
The Day-Date has always been Rolex’s flagship model, but a platinum Day-Date exists on a completely different level. The reference 18346 combines the heaviest and most noble of metals with a factory-set diamond dial and bezel, creating a configuration that was produced in exceptionally small numbers. This 1989 example also houses the then new Caliber 3155, which introduced the highly practical "double quickset" feature, allowing both the day and date to be set independently. This is not just a luxury watch, it is the ultimate execution of Rolex’s most prestigious creation.
A Statement Of Understated Power
What makes a platinum and diamond Day-Date so compelling is its discretion. Unlike yellow gold, platinum has a subtle, cool tone that allows the factory-set diamonds to enhance the watch without being overt. The weight is the primary giveaway, a dense and substantial feeling on the wrist that can only come from solid platinum. This reference represents a very specific type of luxury, one that is understood by those who know, rather than announced to everyone in the room. It is a quiet assertion of having reached the absolute top.
An Exceptionally Preserved Example
This piece is in very good condition. The unpolished platinum case is strong and the dial is perfect. The crystal is flawless. The platinum President bracelet is in excellent shape, showing almost no sag, a remarkable feat for a bracelet of this age and material. The watch is accompanied by service papers, adding to its provenance and verified history. As with every watch we offer, this piece has been verified as mechanically sound and is ready to wear.
The Definitive Flagship Rolex
This is a watch for the serious collector who understands that true rarity is often quiet. A factory-set, double quickset platinum Day-Date is a genuinely scarce piece, representing the best of what Rolex was capable of producing at the end of the 1980s. It combines major technical innovation with the highest level of material execution. For the person who wants a single watch that says everything without saying a word, there is simply no substitute.

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
