2005 Piaget Black Tie P10098 - 18K White Gold Full Diamond Pave Dial

The Peak Of Haute Joaillerie Horology

Piaget occupies a singular, legendary space in watchmaking history, recognized as the house that seamlessly dissolved the boundary between avant-garde jewelry sculpture and traditional mechanical discipline. The Black Tie collection serves as a definitive modern manifestation of this heritage, engineered specifically for formal elegance. Executed in a substantial 28x41mm elongated rectangular silhouette, this 2005 masterpiece leverages the cold, modern luster of solid 18k white gold to frame a presentation focused entirely on material scarcity, light play, and architectural weight.

The Elite Status Of The Full Pave Dial

While standard catalog executions of the reference P10098 typically utilized textured guilloché surfaces or simple diamond markers, this exceptional variant features a full factory-set diamond pave dial. Representing a significantly higher production tier at the time of its initial release, this layout blankets the entire dial face in a seamless grid of brilliant-cut diamonds. Complemented by a matching factory diamond-set 18k white gold bezel, the configuration transforms the watch face into a living canvas of light. It relies on meticulous, old-world gem-setting rather than printed elements to establish its geometry, offering an uncompromising level of rarity for the dedicated Piaget collector.

Exceptional Preservation With Original Hardware

Condition is very good overall. The solid 18k white gold case has been beautifully preserved, maintaining its sharp rectangular transitions, original stepped profiles, and deep hallmarks on the caseback. The intricate factory gem-setting across both the bezel and the dial remains entirely immaculate, with every individual stone precisely aligned and securely seated. The watch comes fitted to its original premium leather strap, which is neatly paired with the authentic Piaget 18k white gold tang buckle. Mechanically, the mechanical movement has been fully inspected on the test bench, confirming strong performance and excellent operational longevity.

An Authoritative Mid-Century Statement For The Modern Evening

The reference P10098 is a watch designed for the individual who demands absolute mechanical integrity behind a high-jewelry aesthetic. By opting for a traditional mechanical movement over simpler quartz alternatives, Piaget preserves the horological discipline that serious enthusiasts audit first. The tailored 28x41mm proportions ensure it hugs the anatomy of the wrist perfectly, slipping effortlessly beneath a formal shirt cuff while commanding immense presence when unveiled. It stands completely apart from common production sports references, serving as an elite, curated art piece for the modern evening wardrobe.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
