Audemars Piguet Day-Date 25573BA - Bullet Bracelet White Dial

This is AP keeping things disciplined

This Day-Date Automatic comes from a period when Audemars Piguet was still focused on proportion and finishing rather than scale or excess. Yellow gold throughout, compact dimensions, and a layout that feels settled rather than styled. At 33mm, it wears exactly as intended for the era. Elegant, contained, and quietly confident.

The white dial reinforces that restraint. Clean, legible, and calm, it gives the watch a formal tone without feeling stiff.

Why this configuration matters

The bracelet is the differentiator. The integrated bullet style 18k yellow gold bracelet is not something you see often, even within AP’s already narrow dress watch catalog. It gives the watch texture and flow without turning it into a jewelry piece.

The absence of complication overload is part of the appeal. Automatic, day and date, precious metal, and an integrated bracelet that was designed as part of the case rather than added later. This reference was never mass produced and was aimed at clients who wanted refinement without spectacle.

The white dial keeps everything grounded. It lets the bracelet and case architecture carry the visual weight.

What you need to know before wearing it

Condition is good overall. The dial is perfect. The crystal is perfect. The case shows light wear consistent with age and remains well defined. The bracelet is in good shape and structurally sound.

The piece comes with a two extra links.

The watch is running well at approximately minus three seconds per day with acceptable amplitude and low beat error after passing the test bench. No box or papers are present.

The bracelet fits approximately a 6 to 6.4 inch wrist and should be considered carefully.

Why this watch still holds weight

This is not a loud AP and it is not trying to be. It is a measured dress watch with an uncommon bracelet and a design that rewards attention rather than demanding it.

It works as a refined everyday gold watch, a conversation piece for people who know AP beyond the obvious references, or a quiet anchor in a thoughtful collection. Understated, uncommon, and increasingly hard to replace in this configuration.

Every watch we offer has been authenticated and mechanically looked over to ensure immediate usability.

Bracelet change, extension, cutting, and sizing is available upon request through our professional in-house jewelers.

History

Founded in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet in Le Brassus, Switzerland, Audemars Piguet is one of the most prestigious Swiss watchmakers in the world. The company quickly established itself as a leader in the industry, with a reputation for producing fine mechanical watches with intricate complications. Over the years, Audemars Piguet has been known for pioneering new techniques and pushing the boundaries of watchmaking.

The brand has a unique position in the watch world, as it remains independent, with the Audemars family still controlling the company. The brand's history is filled with technical innovations, and it has been recognized for creating some of the finest, most intricate timepieces ever made.

The Creation of the Royal Oak

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was introduced in 1972, designed by Gerald Genta, a renowned Swiss designer who had already created iconic designs for several luxury watch brands. The Royal Oak was revolutionary in many ways, especially because it broke the traditional mold of what luxury watches were at the time.

Before the Royal Oak, luxury watches were typically crafted in precious metals like gold or platinum, with conservative designs. Genta’s vision for the Royal Oak was to create a bold and modern luxury watch that could withstand the test of time, both in terms of durability and style. It was the first luxury steel sports watch, made from stainless steel, a material that had previously been seen as utilitarian rather than luxurious.

One of the most distinctive features of the Royal Oak is its octagonal bezel with exposed screws, which became an iconic design element. The watch also featured an integrated bracelet, making it an all-in-one piece that was both functional and stylish. The design was so bold and revolutionary that it initially met resistance from collectors, who were skeptical about the idea of a luxury watch made of steel. However, the Royal Oak eventually became a symbol of innovation and style, transforming the entire watch industry.

Why the Royal Oak Was So Important

  • Material Innovation: The use of stainless steel in a luxury watch was unheard of at the time. The Royal Oak was a game-changer by making steel a material that could be both durable and luxurious.

  • Iconic Design: Gerald Genta’s design, with its octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet, was unlike anything else on the market. Its bold, industrial design became instantly recognizable and remains a symbol of the brand today.

  • Market Impact: The Royal Oak helped shift the perception of what a luxury watch could be. It bridged the gap between traditional watchmaking and a new, sportier luxury aesthetic. The success of the Royal Oak is largely credited with helping Audemars Piguet become a leading luxury watch brand.

  • Heritage of Innovation: The Royal Oak was not just a success in terms of design, but also in terms of its technical prowess. It introduced innovations in both the case and movement construction, with a high level of finishing and craftsmanship that set new standards in the industry.

Over time, the Royal Oak evolved, and new models were introduced, including the Royal Oak Offshore in the 1990s, which offered a more rugged, larger version of the iconic design. Despite the passage of time, the Royal Oak has remained a staple of Audemars Piguet’s collection and continues to be one of the most coveted watches in the world.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
