Audemars Piguet Bamboo - 18K Yellow Gold

Details

We’re excited to offer one of the rarest and most elegant variations of a true vintage icon: the Audemars Piguet Bamboo in 18k yellow gold. Most examples found in the wild tend to be in pretty rough shape with heavy wear, polished case and bracelets, or extremely short, which is what makes this one even better.

It's in amazing shape, in all original condition with its unpolished case and bracelet, the bracelet is also full-length from the day it was sold back in the day which is not common to see as almost all of them have been cut down to smaller sizes.

The watch features a 27mm yellow gold case, paired with its signature integrated bamboo-style bracelet that gives the piece its name. Despite its size, this model wears beautifully thanks to its slim profile and substantial gold weight. It feels luxurious on the wrist—solid, smooth, and comfortable, with a unique bonus: the bracelet doesn’t pull at wrist hairs, unlike many vintage designs, making it perfect for everyday or dress wear.

The champagne horizontal stripe dial is clean and minimal, with no hour markers that give it a timeless, refined look. It’s a classic AP aesthetic—elegant, understated, and impeccably balanced. The overall condition is excellent, and the watch is completely original, including the crown and bracelet.

The Bamboo bracelet design is one of Audemars Piguet’s most iconic vintage case styles. It blends sharp 1970s design language with delicate, almost jewelry-like craftsmanship. These pieces were handmade in small numbers during a time when AP was focused on boutique-level production. The white gold variant is especially sought-after due to its rarity, subtlety, and cool-toned sophistication.

If you’re looking for a rare, elegant, and wearable piece of Audemars Piguet history, this white gold Bamboo stands out as a collector-grade treasure—unisex, stylish, and incredibly well-preserved.

History

The Bamboo takes its name and its texture from the jointed, segmented stalk: the bracelet links are shaped and finished to evoke the node-and-internode rhythm of the plant, creating an integrated watch that feels like jewelry while functioning as a serious timekeeping instrument.

Produced in the 1980s in 18-karat yellow and white gold with manual and quartz movements, the Bamboo references 2508 and 5620CA represent two ends of the spectrum — a diamond pave dial and bracelet on the 2508, a more austere grey brushed dial on the 5620CA. Both wear well under 32mm and were designed with a specific wearer in mind: someone for whom the watch and the bracelet are the same thing.
