Audemars Piguet Decagon - 18K White Gold
The Silver Glitter Integrated Audemars Piguet
In the late 1970s, Audemars Piguet was the definitive leader in the ultra-thin dress watch category, prioritizing material texture over technical bulk. This 31mm reference is a rare departure from the standard sunburst finishes of the era, featuring a "Silver Glitter" dial and a Decagon 10 sided case. The surface has a fine, granular texture that catches the light in a scattered manor, offering a dynamic visual depth that standard dials lack. It represents a period when AP was experimenting with unconventional dial and case finishes to elevate their already refined white gold silhouettes.
A Masterclass In Two Tone Integration
While most integrated AP dress watches are monochromatic, this example features a sophisticated two-tone execution. The case and the heavily textured woven bracelet are crafted in 18k white gold, but the bezel is rendered in 18k yellow gold. This creates a sharp, intentional frame around the glitter dial, pulling the warmth of the yellow gold into an otherwise cool, technical palette. The bracelet is a highlight of 1970s craftsmanship, flowing seamlessly from the case as a single, continuous object. At 76 grams, it carries the substantial weight of high-tier vintage jewelry while maintaining the low profile of an ultra-thin manual-wind movement.
Excellent Case Definition And Honest Patina
The 18k white and yellow gold components are in great shape, appearing well-preserved with sharp lines and clear definition in the woven bracelet links. The silver glitter dial is clean across the center, showing a light, honest patina around the extreme edges that adds a layer of vintage character without distracting from the overall aesthetic. The integrated bracelet is tight and maintains its structural integrity, and intricate woven design. Mechanically, the manual-wind movement is running strong after passing our test bench.
A Distinctive Neo Vintage Statement
This is a watch for the collector who appreciates the "unibody" design of 1970s Audemars Piguet but wants a configuration that stands apart from the common single-metal examples. The combination of the glitter dial and the two-tone white and yellow gold construction makes it a sophisticated outlier in the AP archive. It works perfectly as a unique formal piece or a high-end daily accessory, providing a level of hand-finished detail that modern manufacturing simply does not produce. It is a rare, high-quality object that captures the optimistic luxury of its era.

What Our Clients Say About Us
I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)
Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.
This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
Can't recommend Danny's vintage watches enough!!! My first Omega ever and im in love have been wearing every day since I purchased it. Danny's shop is a must visit if you are in NYC looking for a watch!!!
