Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 56175 - 18K White Gold Black Dial

Details

The Evolution Of Mid-Size Royal Oak Architecture

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak completely redefined luxury watchmaking upon its debut, establishing a bold design language rooted in industrial geometry and integrated structure. During the 1990s, the manufacture expanded the lineage to include curated mid-size executions, introducing the reference 56175 to offer a highly balanced and versatile 33mm footprint. This era captured a distinct focus on wearable refinement, preserving Gérald Genta's exact geometric proportions and octagonal bezel while slimming the profile for an incredibly flush fit on the wrist. It represents a sophisticated chapter of the Royal Oak timeline, celebrating pure form and low-profile ergonomics.

Exceptional Material Monochrome And Rarity

While the vast majority of mid-size Royal Oak production runs from this era were executed in stainless steel, traditional yellow gold, or two-tone configurations, this rare example is crafted entirely from solid 18k white gold. The choice of white gold delivers an understated, stealth-wealth aesthetic, offering the historic industrial lines of the model in a monochromatic precious metal presentation. The deep black dial functions as a perfect visual anchor, absorbing incoming light and providing a sharp contrast against the white gold hands and indicators. The traditional micro-tapisserie pattern adds a subtle layer of textured depth, catching changing light across its geometric face.

Like New Preservation And Substantial Weight

Condition: Like New. This piece has been preserved in museum-grade condition, with the solid 18k white gold case and integrated bracelet maintaining their original factory-sharp facets, pristine satin-brushed surfaces, and high-polish bevels. The signature white gold hexagonal bezel screws sit completely flush against the octagonal perimeter, and the sapphire crystal is immaculate. Weighing a substantial 127 grams, the timepiece carries an impressive physical heft that immediately communicates its pure gold composition. The integrated bracelet remains tightly articulated with zero structural slack, featuring a full count of 20 links to comfortably accommodate a 6.75-inch wrist profile. The caseback features a deeply struck, crisp D-series serial number (D58293), confirming its mid-1990s production origin.

A Discerning Statement Of Stealth Luxury

The reference 56175 in solid white gold is a watch for the serious connoisseur who values the historical pedigree of the Royal Oak but rejects the overt flash of yellow gold. Powered by an exceptionally dependable and accurate Swiss quartz movement, it serves as a precise, low-maintenance daily companion that eliminates the need for regular winding cycles. Its tailored 33mm dimensions sit flat against the anatomy of the skin, sliding effortlessly beneath a formal dress sleeve while holding an undeniable presence for those who understand independent watchmaking history. It remains a rare, collector-grade alternative to common modern sports models.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
