Chaumet Pebble UFO – Yellow Gold White Stamped Dial

Trade In
Details

An extra-terrestrial gold case

Regarded by many as the UFO case style, the shape is what pulls you in. Smooth, rounded, and very thin in profile, yet fully executed in glossy 18K yellow gold. This is classic Chaumet design language. More jewelry house than tool watch brand. At 30mm, the watch feels refined, but the sculpted case gives it presence beyond the numbers.

Why this configuration matters

The white stamped dial keeps the focus where it belongs. Clean Chaumet Paris signature, blue hour, minute, and seconds hands for contrast, and no excess detail. It is restrained in a way that makes the gold case feel intentional rather than loud. The blue crocodile strap adds depth and pulls from the blued hands without competing with the gold. Crown and buckle in matching 18K yellow gold complete the package. Everything feels considered and cohesive. The quartz movement keeps the watch slim and practical.

What you need to know before wearing it

The watch is in very good condition overall. The sapphire crystal is scratch resistant and presents well. The glossy 18K yellow gold case is stamped appropriately and shows only light wear consistent with age. The original blue crocodile strap and matching 18K gold buckle remain with the watch. The quartz movement is running properly and performing as it should.

A refined statement

This is not a mass market gold dress watch. It is a piece from a jewelry house that approached watchmaking through design first. This is for someone who appreciates form, proportion, and cohesive execution in solid gold, this Chaumet delivers.

History

Founded in 1780 and rooted in Place Vendôme, Chaumet sits in that rare lane where high jewelry and watchmaking overlap naturally. The house built its name designing for European royalty and Parisian elites, and that refinement carries straight into its watches. These were never mass-market pieces. They were jewelry-first objects with proper Swiss mechanics inside.

Through the 1970s–1990s especially, Chaumet leaned into bold case shapes, rich lacquer dials, and heavy 18k gold construction. Many were powered by respected Swiss calibers, but the emphasis was always on proportion, finish, and how the piece sat on the wrist. Integrated bracelets, sculpted bezels, Paris-signed dials. Subtle flex.

In today’s market, vintage Chaumet sits in an interesting pocket. It’s still under the radar compared to the obvious blue-chip names, but the build quality is there and the aesthetic is distinct. For collectors who care about design language and gold weight as much as brand recognition, Chaumet offers something a little more thoughtful and a lot less common.

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
