Jaeger Le Coultre - Memovox Blue

Details

Here's a vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox automatic with a blue sunburst dial from the late 50s, early 60s. Keeps great time and is fully functional. Measurements include a 37mm case size and 18mm lug width. On an aftermarket black leather strap Time and alarm function. 2 crowns at 2 and 4 a clock as seen in photos. The 2 a clock crown is for the alarm, 4 a clock is to adjust the time. Stainless steel case and caseback. The dial has has a lot of degradation/ patina on the inner and outer part as seen in photos. Nice to see a larger alarm watch example. All parts are original including the signed JLC crown, caseback, dial, and movement. Both the dial and case are in great cosmetic, untouched condition.

Ready to wear!

History

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux, a valley in Switzerland that has been central to precision watchmaking for centuries. The Reverso — introduced in 1931 for polo players who needed to protect their watch crystal during matches — features a case that slides and flips 180 degrees, hiding the crystal behind an Art Deco caseback. It is one of the most enduring watch designs ever created, still in production nearly a century later. Our example, the ref 140.007.1 from the 1990s, is a Chaumet double-stamped piece that adds a layer of Paris retail history to an already significant object.
