Non-quick date function at 3 a clock. On a brown leather strap. Dauphine hands. Matching gold hands and hour markers. Both the lume plots and hands developed a nice patina. Steel case and caseback. Gold capped bezel. The bezel shows some purple color due to oxidation (lack of exposure, its been put away!). All parts are original including the crown, dial, caseback, and movement. Both the dial and case are in great cosmetic, untouched condition.

History

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux, a valley in Switzerland that has been central to precision watchmaking for centuries. The Reverso — introduced in 1931 for polo players who needed to protect their watch crystal during matches — features a case that slides and flips 180 degrees, hiding the crystal behind an Art Deco caseback. It is one of the most enduring watch designs ever created, still in production nearly a century later. Our example, the ref 140.007.1 from the 1990s, is a Chaumet double-stamped piece that adds a layer of Paris retail history to an already significant object.
