Jaeger LeCoultre Club

Details

The Story

Here's a vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Club manual wind square case with a cream dial from the 70s. Recently serviced. Keeps great time and is fully functional. Measurements include a 35mm case size and 19mm lug width. It's on its original G&F bracelet that fits up to a 7.5 inch wrist (this specific bracelet is quite rare and expensive). Time only. The originally white dial turned to a cream color and developed some nice patina. Stainless steel case and caseback. Both the dial and crystal are free from any scratches or marks. All parts are original including the signed JLC crown, caseback, dial, and movement. Both the dial and case are in great cosmetic, untouched condition.

History

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux, a valley in Switzerland that has been central to precision watchmaking for centuries. The Reverso — introduced in 1931 for polo players who needed to protect their watch crystal during matches — features a case that slides and flips 180 degrees, hiding the crystal behind an Art Deco caseback. It is one of the most enduring watch designs ever created, still in production nearly a century later. Our example, the ref 140.007.1 from the 1990s, is a Chaumet double-stamped piece that adds a layer of Paris retail history to an already significant object.
