Omega Speedmaster 3513.51 - Panda Dial

Trade In
Details

The right kind of 90s Speedmaster

This is the Speedmaster that people overlook until they see it in person. Reverse panda dial. 39mm case. Automatic movement. It keeps the Speedy DNA but wears slimmer and more compact than the Moonwatch. Black dial, white subdials, clean contrast. It’s sharp without trying too hard.

Why this one works

The reverse panda layout gives it real presence. It feels sportier than the standard black-on-black variants and more modern than the earlier cream subdial executions. The proportions are also key. At 39mm, it wears tight and balanced, especially on the steel bracelet. This isn’t a novelty Speedmaster. It’s just a very good daily version of one. Automatic movement keeps it easy. No ritual winding, no fuss.

Condition

Overall great shape. No major flaws. Bracelet presents with minimal sag, above average for its age. Movement is running very well after passing by our test bench.

Why it still makes sense

If you want a Speedmaster that you’ll actually wear without thinking about it, this is it. It keeps the chronograph heritage but feels more practical and less precious than the Professional. Clean. Balanced. Easy to live with.

History

In 1957, Omega released the Speedmaster as a racing chronograph. Eight years later, NASA put it through a battery of extreme tests — temperature, humidity, vacuum, shock, vibration, acceleration — and in 1965 certified it as the official watch for all manned space missions.

On July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin wore his Speedmaster on the surface of the Moon. No other watch has been to the Moon. That fact has never stopped mattering to anyone who cares about watches.

The Speedmaster's production history across our inventory is rich: the manual-wind Professional (ref 145.022 from 1969 itself), the Reduced automatic (3510.5, 3511.5, 3511.8 with date), the Triple Calendar series (3521, 3523.3), the Michael Schumacher limited editions (3810.12, 3518.5), and the AC Milan and Schumacher World Champion 2000 editions. Each variant was built on the same essential chassis — the 39mm steel case, the tachymeter bezel — and each one lands somewhere on the continuum between racing instrument and artifact of human achievement.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
