Omega Speedmaster - Panda Dial

This Speedmaster Reduced is housed in a 39mm stainless steel case with an 18mm lug width, offering versatile proportions that wear comfortably on the wrist while still providing strong wrist presence. The case retains its factory brushed and polished finishing, with sharp edges and an untouched profile.

The standout feature is the black panda dial with contrasting white sub-dials, a highly desirable configuration among collectors for its vintage racing aesthetic. The dial is laid out with three registers — small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30-minute chronograph counter at 12 o’clock, and 12-hour totalizer at 6 o’clock — with a quickset date window at 3 o’clock for added practicality. The lume on the hands and hour markers has developed into a rich, even patina, enhancing the vintage appeal of the watch.

It is fitted on its original Omega signed stainless steel bracelet, a hallmark of authenticity, with a comfortable taper and secure clasp. The bracelet accommodates up to a 7.25-inch wrist.

Inside beats Omega’s automatic chronograph caliber, known for its robustness and reliability, providing timekeeping, chronograph, and date functions. As an automatic model, it offers the convenience of daily wear while staying true to the Speedmaster’s sporty DNA.

This piece remains completely original, including its signed Omega crown, caseback, dial, and movement. Both the dial and case are in excellent untouched condition, showing only honest signs of light wear consistent with age. The crystal is clean and clear, preserving legibility of the dial.

The Speedmaster Reduced line, and particularly the 3511.50 panda dial variant, has become increasingly sought after by collectors who appreciate its smaller, more wearable proportions, vintage-inspired aesthetics, and direct lineage to the legendary Speedmaster Professional. With its attractive patina, uncommon panda dial layout, and complete originality, this example represents an exceptional opportunity for enthusiasts of Omega chronographs.

History

The Omega Speedmaster was first introduced in 1957 as part of Omega’s “Professional” line, originally intended as a sports and racing chronograph. Its bold design, tachymeter bezel, and robust movement quickly distinguished it from competitors.

The Speedmaster’s place in history was secured in the 1960s, when NASA selected it for manned space missions after a series of grueling tests against rival chronographs. In 1969, the Speedmaster Professional became the first watch worn on the Moon, earning its now-legendary nickname: the “Moonwatch.”

Over the decades, the Speedmaster evolved into a wide-ranging collection, spanning manual-wind Professional Moonwatches, automatic variants like the Speedmaster Reduced (Ref. 3510), and numerous limited editions. While the Reduced model offered a more compact and wearable 39mm size, it carried the same design language that made the Moonwatch iconic — black dial, tri-compax layout, tachymeter bezel, and rugged construction.

Today, the Speedmaster is considered one of the most iconic chronographs ever made, blending tool-watch heritage, space history, and timeless design. Whether as a full-size Professional or a Reduced, every Speedmaster carries a piece of that pioneering spirit that made it the watch of astronauts, explorers, and enthusiasts worldwide.

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
