Omega Speedmaster Reduced - “Blue hue”.

Details

Here's an Omega Speedmaster automatic chronograph reference number 3510 with a black dial from the late 90s, early 2000s. Keeps great time and is fully functional. Measurements include a 39mm case and 18mm lug width. The crystal caused this blue hue all over and it looks like its on the dial, but its not. If the crystal is replaced, it will look black. We decided to leave it on as it has a god luck! On its original Omega stamped bracelet that fits up to a 7.25 inch wrist. Black sub dials. Matching silver hands and hour markers. The sub dials are for the seconds, 30 minute track, and 12 hour track. Brushed finishing on the sides of the case and bracelet. All parts are original including the signed Omega crown, caseback, dial, and movement. Both the dial and case are in great cosmetic, untouched condition.

Ready to wear!

History

In 1957, Omega released the Speedmaster as a racing chronograph. Eight years later, NASA put it through a battery of extreme tests — temperature, humidity, vacuum, shock, vibration, acceleration — and in 1965 certified it as the official watch for all manned space missions.

On July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin wore his Speedmaster on the surface of the Moon. No other watch has been to the Moon. That fact has never stopped mattering to anyone who cares about watches.

The Speedmaster's production history across our inventory is rich: the manual-wind Professional (ref 145.022 from 1969 itself), the Reduced automatic (3510.5, 3511.5, 3511.8 with date), the Triple Calendar series (3521, 3523.3), the Michael Schumacher limited editions (3810.12, 3518.5), and the AC Milan and Schumacher World Champion 2000 editions. Each variant was built on the same essential chassis — the 39mm steel case, the tachymeter bezel — and each one lands somewhere on the continuum between racing instrument and artifact of human achievement.
