Piaget Bracelet Watch 9706 - Integrated 18k White Gold, Rubellite Pavé Dial

This is Piaget at full expression

This bracelet watch sits at the very top of the catalog for what Piaget was willing to do in the 1970s. White gold throughout, a fully integrated bracelet, diamond bezel, and a rubellite pavé dial that immediately separates it from anything conventional. This piece incorporates the usage of very rare materials combined with the thought process that the bracelet and dial combined to become a cohesive item, rather than a case on a strap.

Why this configuration matters

The rubellite pavé dial is the entire reason this watch exists at this level. Rubellite was never an easy stone to work with, and pavé execution raises the difficulty further. Color consistency, setting precision, and long term stability all had to be right. Very few examples were made, and fewer still survived intact.

The diamond bezel frames the dial without competing with it. This is important. On lesser executions, the bezel overwhelms the watch. Here, it sharpens it.

The integrated 18k white gold bracelet is equally critical. It's in incredible condition for it's age. It remains tight, fluid, and well preserved, which is increasingly rare and impossible to replicate once lost. Manual wind keeps the profile slim and preserves the elegance Piaget was known for.

What you need to know before wearing it

Condition is excellent. The bracelet is in outstanding shape and retains its original form. The diamond bezel is clean and properly set. The rubellite pavé dial presents beautifully with no visible issues. The movement is running well after passing our test bench.

Why this watch still holds weight

This is not a dress watch in the traditional sense. It is a finished object. A complete statement from Piaget at a time when they were defining what luxury could look like beyond complication and size.

It works for someone who understands material rarity and knows that bracelet condition is everything on watches like this. The purchaser realizew the exceptional execution of all aspects of this piece to create one cohesive object.

Every watch we offer has been authenticated and mechanically looked over to ensure immediate usability.

Bracelet extension, cutting, or sizing is available upon request through our professional in-house jewelers.

History

Piaget was founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fées, Switzerland. The company originally started as a workshop specializing in the production of high-quality movements for other watchmakers. Piaget gained a reputation for its excellence in craftsmanship and its ability to create ultra-thin movements, a trademark that would later become one of its signature features.Piaget’s journey as a watchmaker shifted toward producing timepieces with record-breaking movements in luxury hand-crafted precious metal watches, such as the Piaget Polo, Protocol, Emperador, Altiplano, and several other models. They focused on the watch's appearance and innovative movements like the 7P, 9P, 12P, 530P automatic, and some ultra-thin mechanical movements.Piaget is known for its luxury craftsmanship, which means they don't settle for anything less than perfection. Each gold watch is made with precise finishes throughout the case and bracelet. Piaget only created timepieces in precious metals, which meant there was lots of room for error, as these metals are more fragile. They employed the best goldsmiths in the world, who worked around the clock to ensure that every watch was made perfectly. Since each Piaget is made by hand, almost every one is unique in its own way—whether it’s a malachite stone dial cut from a single stone or a bracelet with a Florentine finish that differs slightly from another. Many watch brands create gold watches with true craftsmanship, but when it comes to Piaget, nothing could top them in terms of quality. Throughout the 1960s to the 1990s, Piaget gained popularity with celebrities and royalty, cementing its status as a symbol of luxury.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
