The Story
Here's a rare vintage Universal Geneve Ferrovie dello Stato Mark 2 or 3 from the late 60s, early 70s (there are 3 variations of this model). Keeps great time and is fully functional. Measurements include a 36mm cushion case and 19mm lug width. It's on a 20mm grey saffiano pebbled textured leather strap (Made in Italy). Time only. White enamel dial. Stamped arabic numerals and sub seconds at 6 a clock. Serial #: 069384 on the caseback. Wears quite large for a vintage watch. There is staining in the sub dial and between the 4-5 a clock position. Stainless steel case and caseback. Both the dial and case are free from any scratches or marks. All parts are original including the signed UG crown, dial, movement, and caseback. Both the dial and case are in great cosmetic, untouched condition. These FS UG wristwatches were issued for the Italian railway workers in the 60s-70s. The numbers engraved on the case back are sequential serial numbers; with that, it can be estimated that approximately 82,000 Universal Geneve wristwatches were made for the Ferrovie dello Stato between the years of 1964 and 1975. Of these, 56,500 (or nearly 70 percent) would have been from the Second Series.

Absolutely unreal experience. Found them from Facebook. Figured I’d browse the site. Fell in love with a patek, texted them, and they (specifically David) were so amazing and easy to chat with about options and inventory, process etc. Came in to pick up the watch - man, as you probably know - you cannot understate how great their selection is. That’s really one of the best parts as well. The service is great; they treat their clients great, prices are very good - but the curation is another huge stand out part. Anyway - these fellas were so great when we came in, that my wife was determined that we buy a watch for her, - you know just to help the business. Not for her, she insists, but because of how great the guys at the shop were. And I agreed so I obliged. :P It’s honestly a 10/10 shop. As we speak they are reworking both our watches to fit our bracelet and I’ll add photos when I pick up the watches. Heck, 11/10. They’re that good. Go there, you will not regret it!
