A Statement In High Jewelry Design

Vacheron Constantin is one of the oldest and most respected watchmakers in the world, a true peer to Patek Philippe at the highest level of Geneva manufacturing. This watch hails from an era when the brand leaned heavily into jewelry-driven design, creating singular objects where the case, dial, and bracelet were conceived as one. The use of a deep black onyx dial, a notoriously difficult material to work with, elevates this piece into a more uncommon tier. In solid 18K white gold, the complete package is a masterclass in texture and minimalist execution from a top-tier house.

An Exercise In Integrated Form

The defining feature of this Vacheron is its integrated construction. The bracelet isn't just attached to the case, it flows directly from it, creating a seamless, unified object on the wrist. This approach was labor-intensive and expensive, resulting in pieces that were produced in very small numbers. The design prioritizes the overall form and feel, a philosophy that sets these watches apart from more conventional case-and-lug designs. It is a pure expression of late-century luxury.

Excellent Vintage Condition

The 18K white gold case and integrated bracelet are in good overall condition, showing light signs of wear. The case appears to be unpolished, retaining its original factory lines. The onyx dial shows a cross dial crack from 9:30 to 4, although is not visible to the naked eye. The bracelet is structurally sound. As with every watch we offer, this piece has been verified as mechanically sound and is ready to wear.

A Study In Material And Form

This is a watch for someone who understands and appreciates the high-concept design language of vintage Vacheron Constantin. The rarity of the all-white-gold, integrated onyx configuration is the main event. It represents a specific and bold moment in the brand's history for a collector who values design integrity. It is less about telling time and more about wearing a piece of meticulously crafted jewelry from one of horology's most important names.

History

Vacheron Constantin holds the distinction of being the world's oldest continuously operating watch manufacturer, founded in Geneva in 1755 and never having ceased production in the two and a half centuries since. This continuity is not merely a marketing claim — it reflects an organizational culture that has consistently prioritized the transfer of craft knowledge across generations over the commercial pressures that disrupted or eliminated most of its contemporaries. The manufacture's membership in the group of Geneva watchmakers known for their adherence to strict quality standards has been continuous throughout its history, and the watches it produced across those centuries are unified by a standard of finishing and movement quality that very few other manufacturers have maintained with equivalent consistency.

The Patrimony, the Overseas, and the Historiques collections represent the three primary axes of the modern Vacheron Constantin catalog, but the manufacture's historical output encompasses a far broader range of designs and complications. The dress watches produced from the 1950s through the 1980s — round cases in yellow gold, slim manually-wound movements, sector dials and guilloché patterns — represent the purest expression of the Geneva watchmaking tradition that the brand embodies. These watches were made for clients who understood what they were buying, and they were built to the standard that those clients expected.

Among serious collectors, Vacheron Constantin occupies a position alongside Patek Philippe at the summit of Swiss watchmaking, a position earned through the combination of historical depth, consistent quality, and the manufacture's unwillingness to compromise its standards during any period of its history. Vintage examples in any configuration that demonstrates the quality of the movements and finishing command strong premiums from collectors who understand the breadth of what the Geneva manufacture produced across its long history.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I knew I was gonna like Danny, based on his name, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how great of an experience this was. He had the most beautiful 70s Seamaster Cosmic on his website and I was set to be married 2 days later - I arranged to buy it but before leaving we both realized it needed to be serviced. I panicked, because I was literally buying this for my wedding, and Danny being the legend he is, loaned me a nearly identical Seamaster to make sure I could get through the event Never have I had someone go so above and beyond for me, especially while purchasing one of the lesser priced items in their inventory. He serviced my watch and exchanged it with me after the wedding on a super fast turnaround timeline. I would sincerely recommend you visit this guy, you will not be disappointed Edit: adding a pic of the loaner (two tone) and the owner (crosshair)

Great service and shop. Danny and his team were incredibly accommodating, professional, and kind. Great selection of vintage watches. Their store is the hidden gem in the diamond district.

This was my first real luxury watch purchase, a Rolex 15200 Date 34mm, I own Tissots and a Laco, but those are entry level luxury watches. I found Danny’s Vintage Watches online, and had great feedback both on Google, Chrono24 and the Reddit watch community. So decided to give him a shot as buying online can be a crap shoot. Ordered Monday night, was at my doorstep Friday morning. Despite the watch being over 30 years old, serial number says it’s from 91, the watch looked new. Didn’t come with box or papers, and was shipped in a plastic sleeve wrapped in bubble wrap. Danny was always available to answer questions. I’ll be buying from Danny again for the next purchase…saw a couple of Speedmasters on his site I liked….
